A Message from TAGG Logistics

Our 15 Minutes of Fame

We have been fortunate to be featured this summer in 2 publications.  In the July issue of the St. Louis Small Business Monthly, TAGG Logistics authored an article discussing the benefits of outsourced order fulfillment and the trend for e-commerce businesses to turn to companies like TAGG Logistics for more efficient shipping and handling of their products.  Also, in the July issue of Inbound Logistics, a major industry trade publication, TAGG Logistics’ relationship with one of our customers was profiled in an article on how third party logistics providers are offering an increasing amount of value-added services: services such as packaging, kitting and assembly.  You can view both of these articles by clicking here or simply by visiting our website.  As we continue to focus on improving service levels, adding clients and broadening our services, it is nice to get recognition from the outside!

Meet Jacob Schenck!

What job duties does Jacob perform here at TAGG Logistics?  The list is far too long for a short newsletter article!  Jacob spends most of his time in the warehouse loading and unloading trucks, picking and packing orders, and generally keeping the place running smoothly.  He also is the primary point person for the Sun Microsystems and Johnson control accounts.

Jacob has been with TAGG Logistics for almost two years, and has several additional years of warehouse experience.  Prior to TAGG Logistics, Jacob spent a combined 5 years doing order fulfillment and general warehouse work for Manhattan-Cains and Store Supply Warehouse in St. Louis.

When he’s not handling after-hours deliveries for Sun Microsystems, Jacob likes working on cars, fishing and hunting, and spending time with his two children.

A Midwest Logistics Center Will Save You Money

All third party logistics (3PL) companies are not the same.  While most offer a similar range of logistics services, location plays a major part in whether outsourcing logistics is a cost effective strategy.  Without a doubt, logistics companies based centrally in the Midwest have a leg up on the competition: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

Distribution and order fulfillment based in a Midwest city, like St. Louis, MO, means products will get to their final destination cheaper and faster.  Centrally located companies like TAGG Logistics can take advantage of lower parcel and freight rates for every shipment.  The savings add up to thousands of dollars annually as quantities increase.  Furthermore, with no additional cost, by shipping from a Midwest location your package can arrive one or two days faster!

The chart below shows typical savings that can be achieved when shipping from St. Louis to a variety of destination cities.
