Dimensional Weight Impacts Shipping Prices
In January, every UPS and FedEx package will be rated based on both weight and size.
The days of stuffing a box full of air pillows and peanuts are over. Starting January 2015, FedEx and UPS are moving to dimensional pricing for every ground package. No longer will weight be the singular determining factor of shipping price. The carriers will use a formula based on the size of the box to calculate ‘dimensional weight’. This ‘weight’ will be compared to actual weight for every package, and shippers will be charged the greater of the two.
The pricing change is expected to impact over 30% of all Ground shipments and will be a major driver of change for the e-commerce industry. Internet retailers will go through a fundamental shift in the way they package and ship their goods and charge their customers for those shipments.
Now is the time to start thinking through the impacts and the operational changes that need to take place in your business. UPS and FedEx are ready, are you? Contact TAGG to learn how we can help minimize the impact for your business!

2014 TAGG Family Picnic
TAGG Logistics recently held our annual TAGG family picnic. It is an ongoing tradition that we look forward to, and a chance to spend time outside of the warehouse with TAGGteam members and their families. The event had a carnival theme with a variety of games planned for the children and their parents, ranging from plinko, bean bag toss, sack races, as well as the annual TAGGteam kickball game! The day was a huge success, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to show our appreciation to all those that make TAGG run!
