Twitter recently announced the launching of its “buy now” button. While through the launch it will only be available to about 10% of Twitter users, they hope to expand across the site in time for the holiday season. So far their major partners include Home Depot, Burberry, and various celebrities, but this number is also expected to grow in time for the holiday season. Like flash-sales, many of these “buy now” products will be on sale, typically at reduced prices, only for a limited time. Twitter believes that as we grow more and more into an on-demand society, they can find a niche in the ever growing e-and-m commerce sector. It will be interesting to see how many consumers go through with these impulse Twitter buys, and the kind of success Twitter will have during the stressful retail holiday season. (Source: CNBC)
